Spring is in the air and we could not be happier! If you’re looking for ways to make your home sparkle in time for the glorious weather then look no further because we have the top ten tips for spring cleaning your home.
- Break your cleaning into 10-15 minute chunks so the task doesn’t feel too heavy. By breaking down your tasks and mapping out your cleaning day you can tick off one by one and start to feel like you’re making some good progress.
- It’s spring so it’s time for a de-clutter. Get rid of all unwanted clothes, gifts, kitchen items, you name it, and donate them all to charity, this is a great way to do something good and a great way to start the dreaded spring clean.
- We recommend keeping a squeegee in your shower so it’s easy to remember to wipe down the tiles every time and it makes the job less difficult when you come to do a full bathroom clean.
- As you’re going through your nightly bathroom routine, take a couple of minutes to clean your toilet and spray your shower with cleaner before you head to bed.
- There’s nothing like a pristine kitchen worktop to make your home feel clean and smelling amazing. Wipe down your coffee table while you’re watching Netflix, clean the surfaces in your bathroom as you’re getting ready in the morning, and wipe your worktop and hob before you go to bed each night.
- It’s time to get into the habit of regularly cleaning your dishwasher. After each cycle, pull out the bottom rack and make sure there is no leftover grime or food that will start to leave bad smells lingering.
- Clearing that shower drain is so important. When you notice your drain is starting to clog, pour a 1/2 cup of baking soda down it, followed by a 1/2 cup of vinegar, leave for 5 minutes and enjoy the foam party whilst you watch and wait. After this, you can unclog with hot water from the kettle.
- Is your patio furniture lacking some life? It’s time to revive it! Warm soapy water and a good sponge down will do the trick. Then, rinse clean with the garden hose.
- Fill your dishwasher, but without dishes.. Children’s plastic toys, toothbrush holders, and pet dishes are just a few of the items you can use the dishwasher for. (Make sure the children’s toys can’t allow any water inside, lego and mega blocks are ideal for the dishwasher).
- Finally, when you come to clean this spring, tackle the entire house in one go rather than one room per day as you’ll then feel like you have a never-ending cycle of constant cleaning!
