The ice village is a one-stop shop for festive cheer; hosting an ice sculpture cave, woodland market, ice bar, market stalls, ice rink and live entertainment.
Hundreds of breath-taking ice sculptures varying from mischievous elves to a polar bear are displayed in the ice cavern, fabricated by 250 tonnes of ice and some of the world’s best ice artists. Paying tribute to Manchester’s industrial heritage, the icy domain is set against a factory backdrop and the history of the city is woven into some of the sculptures, referencing famous local figures from over the years.
The interactive experience presents perfect photo opportunities sat on a giant frozen throne, peering through a reindeer ice block or riding the giant steam train.
At the end of your arctic voyage, stop off in the ice cavern bar for a festive cocktail or warm yourself up with a hot chocolate or mulled wine. For a more intimate gathering, private arctic huts are available to book, for up to eight people, for a festive celebration with friends and family.
There will be live performances by local choirs, fairground games and the woodland markets selling tasty treats, beverages and festive gifts.
The ice village site is free to enter, with plenty of complimentary activities to enjoy.
