MJCC has a track record in supporting vulnerable people. Since its inception in 1951 as the Jewish Blind Society, the charity developed services such as social activities at a club house, Meals on Wheels and holiday breaks for members.
With improvements in medical intervention for visual impairment, the charity addressed the needs of older and disabled people suffering from social isolation. In 1987 a state-of -the-art facility – The Nicky Alliance Day Centre was built, offering a full programme of activities.
Our Mission:
To support the individual, family and community by improving the quality of life of older, disabled and vulnerable people, helping maintain independence, reducing the need for residential care.
Our Vision:
To support the individual, family and community in confronting the problems [economic, social, medical] created by a larger, ageing population.
