PMB Car Service Centre is JLife’s motoring partner, and 5 star service centre based in Whitefield.  With strong community links for over 20 years including sponsorship at Whitefield Golf Club, the company is well known to JLife readers and enjoys a superb reputation within the community. The current COVID 19 pandemic has led to many questions from drivers regarding MOTs, servicing and idle vehicles so we spoke with the PMB team recently to find out some answers.

Do our cars require MOT testing at this current time?

Vehicles are exempt from MOT testing right now as per government guidelines. However we strongly recommend you continue to MOT test as normal to avoid future price increases and to keep your vehicle totally safe.

So is it safe to bring my vehicle to the garage?

At PMB Whitefield, we have put lots of protection in place. We have strict social distancing, contactless payment and a a sanitised office. All staff are wearing gloves and masks where applicable. Also a collection and delivery scheme is in place if necessary.

You mentioned possibilities of price increases for the future of car repairs and MOT testing, can you be more specific?

Getting Logged On: Top Tips to Keep Kids Safe Online

22 January 2020

The motor industry has been hit very hard due to COVID 19. There has been talk in the repair community that price increases in the future may have to happen. Our advice is to support your local garage now, get your vehicle MOT tested which you still can legally do and service done asap to avoid the uncertainty in the future.

Are tyres and punctures still available during this pandemic?

At PMB Whitefield, we are fitting tyres daily and repairing punctures. Strict social distancing is in place so yes, tyres are not a problem at the moment, and we have a huge range of budget and branded tyres for all vehicles.

If my vehicle breaks down, what shall I do?

Firstly, ring your recovery company. They will assess the situation and give you an approximate time as to when they can arrive. PMB Whitefield are taking in emergency breakdown repairs so the vehicle can be dropped off here, and it will be looked at and assessed quickly.

Can air-conditioning carry the virus?

We would definitely recommend an air conditioner sanitiser to be applied upon an air conditioning service for safety. This helps to kill bacteria within the system.

PMB Care Centre is at Higher Lane Garage, Whitefield, M45 7FZ.
