Manchester Film Festival | The ODEON, Great Northern | 14th to 23rd March
Nine days of incredible films this March will be shown at this year’s Manchester Film Festival, sourced from all over the world as well as right here in the North West. Including shorts, features, premiers, Q&As, red carpet glamour, and so much more!

They are committed to artistic excellence, inclusivity, and innovation. From facilitating submissions to hosting captivating screenings, they foster a vibrant, supportive community.
Manchester International Festival | Aviva Studios and across Manchester | 3rd to 20th July
Every two years Manchester International Festival (MIF) brings the most exciting artists on the planet to Manchester to create ambitious new work – from art and theatre to music, dance, and everything in-between. The first festival under Creative Director, Kee Hong Low, MIF25 will take over Aviva Studios and spread out across the city – inviting you to explore work that’s never been seen before in what’s set to be Manchester’s cultural moment of the summer. Sounds of the City | Castlefield Bowl throughout July
Sounds of the City has established itself as a staple part of Manchester’s vibrant music scene, with a legacy of hosting some of the most celebrated live acts from a wide range of genres. As it returns to Castlefield Bowl for another jam-packed year in 2025, fans can look forward to another celebration of live music. This year’s lineup promises to be particularly exciting, featuring an impressive roster of top-tier performers, including legendary British band Elbow, the nostalgic sounds of Hacienda Classical, the infectious tunes of Rizzle Kicks, and the iconic electronic duo Basement Jaxx. There’s truly something for everyone, making this an unmissable event for music lovers across the city and beyond.
Heaton Park Food Festival | 2nd and 3rd August
After a record-breaking year in 2024, Heaton Park Food Festival is back for 2025 and is bigger than ever! Expect the largest ever food and drink line-up, all new entertainment, top chefs from Manchester sharing their experience, and fresh evening tributes to keep the party going. There’ll be something for everyone, including the kids! With free children’s entertainment, a fun fair and inflatable land, and a mobile educational farm, even the little ones will have a weekend to remember.
Derren Brown: Only Human | The Lowry | 2nd to 13th September
The multi award-winning master of mind control and psychological illusion, Derren Brown, is returning to Salford with his brand new live show, Only Human. Renowned for his ability to manipulate perception and leave audiences spellbound, Derren’s latest offering is sure to push the boundaries of what we think is possible. While the content of Only Human is still tightly under wraps, we’re sure that fans should prepare to be astonished and expect Derren’s signature blend of intrigue, mystery, and mind-blowing tricks.
