Oakwood Solicitors has teamed up with RSPCA for a sponsored dog walk for pooches and their owners in Roundhay Park.
A brisk walk with the dog on an autumnal morning is always a great way to reflect and get some exercise and 14th October at 11am will be the perfect time to link up with other dog lovers too. The Paws 4 a Walk at Roundhay Park is designed to raise support for the RSPCA Leeds and Wakefield branch, and all entry fees and sponsorship raised will benefit the animals at the East Ardsley Animal Centre.
The branch is hoping that dogs will get sponsored to do the walk to help raise vital funds for other animals less fortunate than them. The local RSPCA branch fundraiser Sally Balmforth said: “We’re looking forward to the Paws 4 a Walk and can’t wait to see all the dogs ready to take on the challenge! We’ve had great continued support from the local community, and we hope that will continue with our Paws 4 a Walk event.’’
Oakwood Solicitors has also joined forces with the Leeds and Wakefield branch to promote the importance of drawing up pet legacies in your will. Wills and Probate solicitor Charlotte Law will be on-hand to offer advice and to answer any questions you might have throughout the event also, aiming to give you peace of mind regarding your pet’s long-term wellbeing. Oakwood Solicitors’ managing director Abbie Keech will be bringing her own furry companion to the dog walk.
To attend with one dog it costs £8, while to bring along two canine chums admission is £12 or three dogs will total £15. All proceeds go towards the Leeds, Wakefield and District RSPA branch. Registration is now available online, but if you would prefer to sign up on the day, it is recommended that you arrive at 10.30am. The walk will be approximately 4km and each dog in attendance will also receive a goody bag, rosette and certificate for taking part in the fun-filled and educational dog owners’ event.
