Chairman Andrew Brown called it a “magical achievement,” and praised the walkers for their magnificent fundraising efforts.

Howard Bott, Marcia Brown, Ashley Cohen, Michelle Cundle, Susie Gordon, Jonny Jerome, Richard Levin, Daniel Myers, Sean Rainford, Suzie Shenderey, Tony Sherman, Nicola Smaje and Rosaline Vickers were the walkers who took up the challenge.

The walkers, buoyed up by loyal supporters who sent them off in torrential rain from Golden Acre Park, finished the walk at the care home.

Main sponsors were Beaverbrooks and Manning Stainton. Course sponsors were Gill and Geoff Caplan.
