Harrogate is the hotspot from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 October for anyone who loves browsing around an antiques and fine art fair. Rub shoulders with the 40 specialist antiques dealers who are filling Hall M at Harrogate’s Convention Centre showcasing their finest wares on stands cleverly arranged as period room sets.
The dealer offers the personal touch, the passion, the expertise, the knowledge, the quality of the piece and the opportunity to see the object in context – and this choice is all available under one roof!
In a nutshell, there is a wide range of traditional and modern paintings, town and country furniture, antique and designer jewellery, vintage watches, romantic and contemporary sculpture, silver, glass, 20th century design objects, oriental carpets, treen, enamels and many other decorative works of art spanning the centuries.
The event is Harrogate’s longest standing art and antiques fair and holds an enviable reputation in the north of England as the town’s most prestigious antiques event. Many of the exhibitors are northern based and one long-standing exhibitor at the fair is Lancashire born Janice Kehoe who set up Solo Antiques in 2004 trading in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods – a very fashionable area of collecting at present. Prices range from £100 to five figure sums.
