Belong Morris Feinmann has celebrated its second birthday in style, as party guests gathered together to toast the care village, which has become an integral part of Manchester’s Jewish community.
The sun shone down on the joyous occasion, which saw residents and members of the public treated to a prosecco reception and an array of delicious treats, including a selection of cakes and strawberries and cream. The party was complete with live entertainment from renowned local double act Brian and Maxine Warner, whose past audiences include the Royal family, and a heartfelt rendition of Sister Sledge’s ‘We are Family’ delivered by Belong staff, flash mob style.
Among the guest list was Didsbury West councillors Richard Kilpatrick and Greg Stanton, Manchester City councillor John Leech, and resident Barbara Jacques, who shared her 95th birthday celebrations with the village.
Angela Luckett, Belong Morris Feinmann’s experience coordinator, said: “The party was a huge success and it was truly wonderful to see everyone come together in celebration of all the village has achieved over the last couple of years, which includes the provision of class-leading dementia care to the local community.”
Belong Morris Feinmann is the sixth development from class-leading care operator, Belong, and was developed on behalf of the Feinmann Trust, which aims to support older people in the Jewish community.
Belong specialises in supporting people with dementia and 24-hour care is provided in extended family sized households, with modern open plan layouts specially designed around the needs of people with dementia. All employees working in Belong villages are trained in dementia awareness, from domestic assistants through to bistro staff. The organisation is also a registered domiciliary provider and can support people in their own home, through its Belong at Home service.
