The secretary of state for education, Damian Hinds MP along with the minister of state for school standards, Nick Gibb MP, jointly congratulated Bury Whitefield Jewish Primary School on its high standard of achievement in the 2018 Key Stage 2 reading assessments. Recently published results showed that 100% of pupils reached or exceeded the expected standards of reading, placing BJWPS in the top 1% of primary schools in England.
In a letter addressed to Claire Simon, headteacher of BJPWS, the MPs stated: “We want to equip every child with the fluency in reading necessary to prepare them for a successful secondary education and beyond, and your school has provided this for all its pupils. Thank you for producing such high standards through your hard work and professionalism and congratulations again to you and your staff for all you have achieved.”
