Manchester hosts a successful Jewish Book Week.
Three authors recently headed North to appear at Jewish Book Week in Manchester, the first under the auspices of London Jewish Book Week. This collaboration between Bowdon, Menorah and Hale Synagogues was the initiative of Bowdon’s Harvey Bertfield, who had previously hosted authors from the London event.
A packed house enjoyed Barbara Winton discussing If it is not Impossible…the Life of Sir Nicholas Winton at the Bowdon opening night. Enthusiastic audiences also greeted Patrick Bishop discussing Avraham Stern in The Reckoning, at Menorah and Anthony Lentin discussing the life of Sir Edgar Speyer in Banker, Traitor, Scapegoat, Spy? at Hale.
