United Jewish Israel Appeal is seeking participants for its next leadership programme.
The Manchester branch of United Jewish Israel Appeal (UJIA) is looking for a new group of participants from across the community for its next leadership programme.
Scheduled to begin in December 2017, the programme, which has just completed its fourth cycle, aims to train people aged 25 to 40 who are living and settled in Manchester and are looking to further their lay involvement in the Jewish community.
There are now approximately 40 graduates of the leadership programme, the majority of which are making their mark in different communal organisations – many at trustee or board level.
Over the course of just over 12 months, the participants will be introduced to a variety of lay leaders to hear their stories and understand the challenges they face in their communal roles.
The participants will also visit Leeds and London and, along the way, will hone their practical skills such as how to network, chair meetings, fundraise and speak in public.
Sally Halon, the Manchester UJIA UK programme director, said: “This programme is creating the next generation of communal leaders. We are the go-to resource for organisations large and small who are in need of young people with fresh ideas. It is very exciting to be embarking on a new programme and I urge people to get in touch to be part of the process.”
