Local singer Lisa Jacobs to host an all-female concert in Prestwich.
In partnership with Chai Cancer Care, the Magical Musical Showcase at Prestwich’s Longfield Suite is sure to be a harmonious way to kick-start 2019. An all-star set list of hits from West End favourites and Jewish songs to sing along with will commence on 24th February at 7.30pm.
“The event is unique to Manchester featuring an all-female line-up,” explains Lisa Jacobs, the organiser of the event who will also be singing on the night, “and is an inclusive event for religious and non-religious alike showcasing amazing Jewish talent!”
Leeds-born Manchester resident Lisa is a solo singer who has performed around the world, including Israel for many years. After singing in numerous choirs over the years, she decided to form Vocalisars, which runs singing classes, workshops and parties in Manchester for all ages. Groups formed by Lisa will be on the concert line-up as part of her first organised event: “I’ve wanted to bring Jewish women together and this has been my first opportunity to raise some money and to celebrate female empowerment.”
Well-known singers such as Maxine Warner of Warner Entertainments, theatre star Debbie Hilton and Alex Waxman from the Jewish Theatre Company will be headlining the bill, ably supported by professional live musicians including Carol Jason, and a dance extravaganza from choreographers Leead Begal and Judy Fagleman. Also on the night will be the opportunity to take part in the raffle to be in with the chance of winning a soon-to-be revealed grand prize!
Tickets are selling well, and with 450 seats in the Longfield Suite hall, book now in order to avoid disappointment. Part of the proceeds made on the night will be donated to Chai.
