The development of a brand-new family-friendly Treetop adventure park at Heaton Park in Manchester has now been completed.
The Treetop Trek attraction is set to open on 8th July and joins Treetop Nets, which opened in May, to form a Treetop adventure park offering families an active and fun day out, immersed in nature.
Treetop Trek launched its very first site in the Lake District in 2012 and this latest venture and provides an aerial adventure through the heady heights of Heaton Park’s native British woodland.
The ZipTrek has 36 aerial obstacle challenges including balance bars, organ pipes swinging logs, zig-zag bridges and 15 thrilling zip lines, from which trekkers can glide through the tree canopy at a jaw-dropping height of up to 15m. This treetop adventure is suitable from ages seven years and upwards (with adult supervision) and lasts up to three hours. The lower and shorter Mini Trek is suitable for children from ages five up and lasts one to two hours, with 13 activities including a super skateboard challenge and seven zip lines.
Along with the brand new Treetop Trek experience, visitors can also enjoy Treetop Nets which opened at Heaton Park last month. Treetop Nets is suitable for everyone from the age of three and offers another aerial woodland adventure, this time featuring a collection of giant trampolines, walkways, slides and tunnels, all made from super bouncy netting, suspended up to 40ft off the ground.
Mike Turner, Managing Director of Treetop Trek, said: “It is a fantastic feeling to finally be able to announce the completion of both Treetop Trek and Treetop Nets in Manchester. This is the culmination of months of hard work and now we can look forward to welcoming Manchester’s families throughout the summer and beyond.”
Councillor Luthfur Rahman, executive member for culture and leisure, Manchester City Council said: “As one of our greatest green gems, Heaton Park will welcome thousands of visitors from Manchester and beyond during the school holidays. The opening of the new Treetop Trek experience at the park will certainly enhance its reputation as one of the city’s best destinations for the whole family and is another reason to explore Manchester’s great outdoors this summer.”
