Manchester Jewish Museum’s newest events line up has a creative theme, with Make It! Cooking & Creative Workshops taking place 31st July, 21st August, and 28th August. These hands on sessions will give you a chance to make tasty Jewish sweet treats and try your hand at printmaking, drawing, and mixed media activities – all inspired by Jewish Mancunian Stories from the museum’s collection.
Next up is Arts Award Discover in a Day on 7th August. Learn about the incredible life and work of Jewish artist Pearl Binder, and get inspired to create your own art! The workshop will also involve lots of hands-on activities, including sketching, collage, and print making. Over the course of the day you will complete a logbook, which you can take home with you.
Finally, Creative Sunday Sessions – Drop Ins will take place every Sunday from 7th July throughout the summer holidays, featuring free drop-in, self- guided, family-friendly sessions in the learning studio. Each month you will find a different self-guided creative activity inspired by the collection. July will be centred around The World Needs Beautiful Things by Leah Rachel Berkowitz, which tells the story of Bezalel and his box full of treasures.
