The Friendship Circle and Manchester Maccabi teamed up to hold a family fun day at Manchester Maccabi, raising £6,500 to be split between the two local charities. The event was attended by over 500 people, including Friendship Circle members who were on hand to assist volunteers and staff ensuring the day ran smoothly.

Esty Bruck, programme director, said: “Maccabi was the perfect partner for the fun day as they share our fundamental values; to integrate people of all abilities into mainstream Jewish life and encourage a culture of understanding within the wider community.”

Slip, Sliding Away!

The full-size grass and astroturf pitches hosted a variety of sporting activities such as athletics, Krav Maga, five-a-side football and karate. Children of all ages were thoroughly entertained with a host of activities including balloon modelling, nail and face painting, hair braiding and a variety arts and crafts.

Hours of fun were spent in the glorious sunshine, as guests took part in races and a tug of war, bouncing on the inflatables castle and slide, rolling around in Zorb inflatables and riding in the simulator.

Inside the centre, children played table tennis, sang with Lisa from Vocalisars and sampled the pop-up PJ Library, enjoying stories told by a professional storyteller.

Steph Wilks, centre manager, added: “The atmosphere was incredible. It was a fabulous day and all sectors of the community came together and enjoyed endless fun. We hope to make this an annual event. We’re indebted to our headline sponsor, 151 Products and supporting sponsors including BPS Law and Powerplay who made this event possible.”
