The Fed’s annual residents’ barbeque is always a highlight of the Heathlands Village calendar, and the Manchester sunshine helped make this year’s a roaring success.

Under a marquee on the front lawn, residents were joined by the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester Mark Adlestone and a number of his fellow Fed board members for a delicious lunch prepared by Heathlands Village’s catering team.

There was a very special celebration too, as resident Joyce Kaye celebrated her 99th birthday, surrounded by friends in the gardens. The Year 6 pupils of Broughton Jewish Primary School provided perfect entertainment as a post-lunch performance allowed residents to relax in the sun. The youngsters performed a selection of songs from their end of year musical, Mary Poppins.

After the show, pupils mingled with residents and spent a lovely few minutes getting to know their audience.
