The popular Manchester attraction, The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience, marked its first birthday on 2nd April and has plenty of surprises in store to celebrate the occasion. 365 of them in fact. To commemorate a busy year of frenetic fun and crazy challenges against the clock, the award-winning attraction is following in the steps of Willy Wonka and distributing 365 golden tickets worth almost £8,000 across the city during its birthday week (3rd to 5th April) for members of the public to get their hands on!

Each ticket* will entitle the lucky bearer to a unique prize, which can include free entry for a team of eight people worth £400 four free tickets worth £200, a pair of free tickets worth £80, 50%, 25%, 15% or 5% discount on entry, a free iconic crystal worth £10 to take away and keep, half price discount on the iconic retro satin bomber jackets seen in the TV show, or money off the branded umbrellas – it is Manchester after all.

Anyone hoping to get their hands on these money-can’t-buy tokens will need to keep their eyes peeled as they will be released throughout the week across the city. Some location hotspots to keep an eye on include catering outlets on the University of Manchester’s campus, Wagamama, Manchester Central, Royal Exchange, Printworks, Visit Manchester, Refinery – Drake and Morgan, and The Oast House.

Football fans attending the Manchester City v Manchester United Premier League game on 7th April will be in with a chance to get in on the birthday celebrations too. Hopefuls should also tune in to the XS Manchester radio station, and make sure they’re following The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience on Facebook and Twitter and keep an eye on clues to locations by following #CrystalMaze365.

Looking to its second year and beyond, the Manchester attraction also has plans for some exciting new additions in 2018. Visitors should prepare to experience a new tomb that has been uncovered within the Aztec pyramid that intrepid explorers can venture inside to experience a brand new challenge. That’s just one of the many surprises ahead at the maze this year.

Based on the hit 90s TV show of the same name, The Crystal Maze is open to visitors aged 13 and over. Participants follow the attraction’s Maze Master who guides guests around the four themed zones: Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic. Inside each zone are different challenges; skill, physical, mental and mystery with the ultimate goal of winning a crystal. Each crystal won means more time in the iconic ticket dome, where the aim is to catch enough golden tickets to secure a spot on the coveted leader board. The whole experience is deliciously daft, hilariously funny and will see visitors crawling, running and even sliding their way around the maze.

All visits must be booked in advance online at The-crystal-maze.com.
