FILM
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Try a spot of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and take a cinematic trip back in time to the glamour of 1960s Manhattan. Feel the romance of the classic tale of Holly Golightly, an elegant but naïve and eccentric New York socialite, and her journey to find Mr Right. A live 20-minute concert performed by the Chorus of Opera North, which includes classics from the American Songbook, precedes the film’s showing at the Howard Assembly Room.

To book tickets, visit Operanorth.co.uk.

MUSIC
Barbagallo
Musician Julien Barbagallo brings a little bit of French fancy and Gallic charm to the Hyde Park Book Club cafe. Taking a break from his regular band, Australian psychedelic rock band Tame Impala, the Languedoc native embarks on his eponymous side project. Catch him live just before his album, Danse Dans Les Ailleurs is released on 2nd March and hear one of the key tracks, L’échappée in the video below for a taste of what to expect.

To book tickets, visit hydeparkbookclub.co.uk.

FOOD
Bundobust
Fancy a dosa the healthy stuff? If it’s a meal of substance you want to indulge in this Valentine’s Day, then try the food on offer at Bundobust in Leeds city centre. With a menu which is wholly vegetarian, its Indian street food is presented on a series of small plates, adding the spice of life: plenty of variety. From the vada pav – a spicy potato cake – to the masala dosa, paneer and mushroom tikka – a trip to Bundobust is a delicious opportunity to eat your way through the most romantic day of the year. As a Valentine’s Day deal sealer the restaurant is even giving away a free portion of okra fries with every Combo for Two, as well as well as offering 25% off sharing bottles. No need to book, just waltz in, find a spot and enjoy.
