It’s almost Halloween and this trick or treat recipe is great to make with the kids and then play to see who gets which filling – will it be trick or treat?


• 100g dark chocolate
• 100g milk chocolate
• 60g unsalted butter
• 4 tablespoons caster sugar
• 1 egg yolk
• Icing sugar, cocoa or chocolate flakes


Suggested fillings:
• Glace cherries
• Sour jelly sweets
• Almonds
• Capers
• Olives

Method


Melt the chocolate and butter in a saucepan over a low heat. When melted add the sugar and mix.

Remove from the heat and add the egg yolk and stir until the mixture thickens.

Put in the fridge for about an hour to cool.

Roll the mixture out and roll not balls, placing one of the fillings inside each.

Roll each ball in icing sugar, cocoa or chocolate flakes.

Now you have a great game – see which filling you get!

NB be sure to check on allergies and dietary requirements. Do not gives nuts to children under three due to the risk of choking.
