Wishing all our JLife readers across Leeds and Manchester a peaceful Shana Tova for 5777!
Next week is the Day of Atonement and the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur. For nearly 26 hours, we abstain from food and drink, do not wash or anoint our bodies, do not wear leather footwear, and abstain from marital relations.
This week, the period in between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is referred to as the Days of Repentence or Days of Awe – a time when we can make a commitment to not repeat mistakes made in the last year.
“For on this day He will forgive you, to purify you, that you be cleansed from all your sins before G‑d” (Leviticus 16:30)
JLife is 10!
As well as having a good Yom Tov, JLife is also getting the preparations underway to celebrate its 10th birthday!Be sure to check out the December edition of JLife Leeds to join us in the festivities.
