Fletcher Moss Park | Didsbury
In the centre of Didsbury, Fletcher Moss Park has it all, large open space, a river to walk beside or let your dog swim, a café, and a botanical garden. With scenic views and wide-open space there are several beautiful spots to get lunch laid out and multiple short to long routes around the park just choose between manicured gardens or nat- ural track paths. Close to Didsbury’s many shops and cafés to extend your day out.
Dunham Massey | Altrincham
This National Trust Park is the perfect place for a day-out. Walk across the parkland well known for its ancient trees, rose garden, 17th century house, and roaming heard of fallow deer. Great for families and young children, Dunham Massey has a café and baby changing areas. Dogs are also allowed on-lead and off-lead in selected areas with multiple routes for you to find your ideal ramble stop point.
Drinkwater Park| Prestwich
A more forest-like and wild setting than a traditional park, Drinkwater Park is a vast open space enclosed by tall trees. A quiet and serene alcove for the regular walkers, Drinkwater Park is dog friendly and has one car park on either side, one near Philips Park and another at the park’s main entrance, a great option for a long walk to build up a taste for a Matzah picnic.
Chorlton Water Park | Chorlton
A great option for families, Chorlton Water Park has a large outdoor play area and plenty of picnic spots. A large lake frequented by geese, ducks, and swans sits in the middle of the park beside which are plenty of picnic benches to sit at to enjoy your lunch. There are multiple medium length walks you could find your way around, and on-site parking available.
Platt Fields Park | Fallowfield
Providing an open green space closer to cen- tral Manchester, Platt Fields Park features a lake populated with swans and ducks, providing a great walk around its edge with plenty of benches to relax and overlook the lake while tucking in to the Pesach picnic. For the kids there’s an outdoor play area, a bmx skateboard area, and plenty of open grassland.
