Menorah Synagogue’s 60th anniversary launch event brought together graffiti art, delicious food, and nostalgia.
Avant garde design and graffiti art met religion on the cover of Menorah Synagogue’s 60th anniversary commemorative brochure when it was launched at the Gala Lunch in August.
Graffiti art, collected from all over the world, including Israel, was combined by member Helen Conway with fragments from the ‘Ma Tovu’ welcoming prayer, a letter ‘samech’ signifying 60 and a flame, all incorporating the Menorah logo.
History and nostalgia could be found within the brochure with messages from all Menorah’s previous Rabbis and articles about every aspect of the congregation’s activities.

Welcomed by Menorah Chair, Dr Laura Cohen MBE, over one hundred guests were entertained by the shul choir led by Deborah Cohen and Jewish Encore, a stunning West End entertainment trio while feasting on the Sophie Fox catered banquet of a lunch.
“I am thrilled to be surrounded by so many people who have played key roles in building our vibrant community over the last 60 years,” declared Laura, clearly moved by the occasion.
