October half term is fast approaching, and we are delving into the Spooktacular events you can attend here in Yorkshire whilst keeping Covid safe.
Farmer Copleys Pumpkin Festival.
Farmer Copleys says “It’s been a bit of a strange year but we’re still going to be running our Pumpkin Festival for 2020. We’ve planted the usual amount, over 130,000, and we intend to have all the usual festivities as well as some exciting new things for 2020! Of course, have the usual fun activities, entertainment and stalls.”

Spooky Half Term at Lightwater Valley.
Something spooky is coming to Lightwater Valley this Half Term. Lightwater Valley will be hosting a hocus pocus half term full of activities to keep young families eerily entertained in-between rides.
Younger visitors will love taking a trip down Trick or Treat Street for the chance to get some sweet treats and practise their aim on the Ghoul Shoot targets. Venture into the Abandoned Theatre and walk through spooky scenes of wicked witches and friendly ghosts. Whilst enjoying thrills and chills on the family fun rides be sure to keep an eye out for the thirteen hidden ghosts lurking around the park and meet and greet some creepy characters.
When: Saturday 24th – Saturday 31st October.

Spilman’s Pumpkin Festival.
Spilman’s have 30000 pumpkins of all different colours and sizes as well as thousands of decorative squash. This year they are doing bookings only to control numbers and keep people safe. Spilman’s will have all the same activities as last year’s event including tractor rides, bale mountain, corn cannon and carving barn.

Cost: Booking is £10 per car and on arrival you are given a voucher for £10 to spend on whatever you want on the farm.

Spook Safari – Gulliver’s Valley Theme Park.
Gulliver’s has been taken over for a spook safari of fun! Wizard Express at Kirklees Light Railway.
Junior witches & wizards-in-the-making are invited to step aboard the spectacular Wizard’s Express steam train express which will transport them to Wizarding Class at Shelley Station. During the 45-minute interactive session, magical guests will help all the wannabe witches/wizards learn everything they need to know for a life of broomstick-riding, wand-waving & potion-making!
