Manchester United Jewish Supporters Club (MUJSC) won the treble at the inaugural Jewish Manchester derby.
MUJSC and Blue Star OSC – Manchester City’s Official Jewish Supporters Club – brought football and community together in a historic derby event in North Manchester.
The one-of-a-kind occasion in June saw supporters from across the community come together for a packed programme of football, including a men’s 11-a-side fixture, men’s masters match, and a women’s match, alongside Rabbi Walker and former United Midfielder, Sammy McIlroy.
In the men’s 11-a-side fixture, United were victorious with a score of 11-4. The women’s fixture saw a United women come out on top with a 3-2 victory, while the men’s masters clash ended 6-3 to the Jewish Red Devils.
The event raised over £1,100 for the Manchester United Foundation and City in the Community, supporting both organisations’ ongoing work empowering young people and strengthening communities through football.
Designed to celebrate Jewish identity within football, the event highlighted the growing presence and impact of Jewish supporters’ groups in the game, while showcasing how football can unite communities across rivalries through a shared passion.
MUJSC Co-Founders Joseph Eskenazy and Dan Delew said: “Seeing so many people from across the Manchester Jewish community come together through football was incredibly special. The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was fantastic, and we’re proud to have created an event that celebrated community through the game we all love, while also raising important funds for two brilliant charities.”
