Take a look at the best of new bars and eateries popping up all over Manchester.
Adelphi Lads Club
Based in the heart of Salford, this new bar and barbeque joint opened its doors back in June. Offering traditional American bar food such as fried chicken wings (provided by Wing & Ting) with a range of intriguing sauces such as hoisin honey, curry rub, and sweet chili, ginger, and lime. Also on the menu are artisanal pizzas provided by Talk to Me, with highlights including the mushroom heavy Shroom pizza and the simply named Plantain pizza, featuring a plantain base, Fior Di Latte, vegan mozzarella, caramelised onion, and pickled scotch bonnets.
This all day and night hotspot will be making its way up from London this month, so look out for its opening date! MNKY HSE (pronounced Monkey House) will be providing cuisine from all over the world, serving everything from sushi to soft or crunchy tacos, to steak.
There’s plenty to draw in the crowds at the bar as well, as MNKY HSE has its own range of cocktails. Highlights include the S.O.S The MNKY’s, made up of Moose the Alpine spirit, homemade kiwi sprit, crème de menthe, Fernet Branca, fresh lime juice, mint, cucumber, and ginger ale.
Pong & Puck
Bars which also offer an activity are all the rage at the moment, as shown by Pong & Puck’s recent establishment in Great Northern Warehouse. As the name would suggest, some of the games on offer include shuffleboard, table tennis, and even prosecco pong.
The drinks menu features a range of craft and draught beers, as well as the bar’s own brand of lager, and a creative cocktail menu. Check out the Naked Pineapple (featuring Naked malt, coconut juice, vanilla syrup, pineapple juice and raspberry) or the Ginger Puck (with tequila, agave, Karma gingerella, and Pong & Puck lager).
The Green Lab
A recent Northern Quarter success is making its way over to Deansgate for its second site, which opened back in May. The brand was founded in 2019 by sisters Nikita and Kanika Banga, with the aim of revolutionising the way that people enjoy food. The menu includes a range of brunch classic with a twist, including matcha pancakes and Moroccan poached eggs. Also on offer is a range of sushi, Thai green curry, and lettuce wraps.
BOOM Battle Bar
Another bar where a little friendly competition is always a great addition to a night out. That’s the premise behind BOOM Battle Bar, which allows you to take on your friends in a range of bar room games, including American pool, beer pong, and competitive karaoke. You can even dip into the virtual world with augmented reality darts and axe throwing. The menu includes classic bar food such as loaded nachos and chicken wings, as well as beer buckets and a range of craft beers.
