Don’t hesitate to check into some of Manchester’s most exciting eateries and watering holes this summer.
Beigel
Starting off as a home-based takeaway service during lockdown, Beigel has now popped up in the hub of Media City, serving daily fresh bagel batches sourced from Chorlton’s own Barbakan Deli. A menu filled with local ingredients combines well known classics such as smoked salmon and cream cheese with adventurous surprises including lamb shawarma and harissa mayo. Prosecco, artisan coffee, and delicious bakes are also on offer for visitors to relax and unwind by the scenic Salford Quays docks, while future wellbeing workshops and yoga classes are also planned to place mental health at the business’ forefront.

Codi’s Kitchen
With a menu inspired by the owner’s culinary travels across Australasia, Prestwich’s first ever sushi restaurant is a casual and fun dining experience for those seeking a touch of Asian fusion. Cut to precision and using the finest quality ingredients, Codi’s chunky rainbow rolls are an eye-catching highlight, with fillings including salmon, tuna, seared beef, teriyaki, sweet potato, and Japanese mayo. Hot dishes including crispy chilli chicken, katsu curry, and crispy shredded beef are also on the cards, along with classic poke bowls, bao buns, and miso cod. The restaurant also holds a carefree BYOB policy, allowing customers to tuck in with their favourite tipple!

Paradise Skate World
The imaginative team behind Junkyard Golf has launched its new intergalactic themed bar on-Deansgate, inviting guests to orbit around a 4,500 sq. ft roller skate rink and sample some deep space-inspired drinks and a fusion of Japanese and Mexican inspired snacks. Cosmic cocktails promising to take guests to another dimension include the gin-based Cloud Jumper, made with cherry liqueur, and elderflower tonic, and the tequila-laced Paradise Isn’t Always Tropical, with mezcal, curacao, and lime.

Beavertown Brewery
The popular London-born craft beer brewery has now become one of the latest traders to open its doors in Manchester’s independent business hub, Hatch, with a brand-new bar set inside a stylishly renovated shipping container. Visitors can admire the brewery’s signature artwork lining the walls of the unique space before taking a seat on the small outdoor terrace, with a rooftop area also due to open later in this year. Beavertown favourites such as Neck Oil IPA, Gamma Ray American pale ale, and the Bones session lager are available on draught for some easy summer drinking, alongside a rotated selection of limited-edition cans to take home.

Karen’s Diner
This tongue-in-cheek interactive diner guarantees an entertaining experience for guests in need of a laugh after a long week. Intentional shoddy service is the main attraction of the restaurant, as dramatically rude waiters encourage customers to complain during their entire visit and live out their “Karen fantasies”. The hefty menu boasts serious American burgers with funny names, including “I Want To See The Manager”, “Karen’s Got Real Beef”, and “Basic Karen,” while free drinks are also on offer for any visitors called Karen – if they can prove it!
