What do you think is behind the enduring popularity of luxury cars?
One thing never changes, people still appreciate quality and craftsmanship. Yorkshire is renowned for its hard-working entrepreneurs and when they’re not working, they want to enjoy the good things in life. There’s a huge choice of beautiful, high performance models offering style and comfort as well as the very latest innovative technology. What could be better than enjoying a drive through God’s Own Country in a convertible or a top-of-the-range saloon?
Why has JCT600 chosen to represent Rolls-Royce in Leeds?
Having been in business for over 70 years, we have a long heritage of working with some of the best-known names in the motor industry and, with their timeless appeal, Rolls-Royce is an obvious partner for us and a great addition to our portfolio. We have a reputation for continually investing in our dealerships and our people to ensure that customers enjoy the best possible experience with us. We’ll be working closely with Rolls-Royce to create an outstanding facility in Leeds to showcase its stunning portfolio of new and provenance pre-owned Rolls-Royce cars as well as providing full aftersales services.
How has the brand changed over the years?
Rolls-Royce dates back to 1904 with the launch of the six-cylinder Silver Ghost soon after, which was quickly hailed as the best car in the world. The brand became renowned for producing the most luxurious and coveted vehicles and this is still true today, although Rolls-Royce has greatly expanded its product portfolio in line with the needs of modern motorists. It now offers a host of models comprising the Ghost Series II family (Ghost and Ghost extended wheelbase), the Wraith coupe; the Dawn convertible, the Phantom saloon, the Cullinan five-door SUV and the new range of bold Black Badge models.
What is your favourite Rolls-Royce model and why?
Rolls-Royce makes some of the most beautiful and sought-after cars in the world, so it’s a difficult choice, but I think it would have to be a Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge. The Dawn is described by Rolls-Royce as ‘the most glamourous, uncompromising expression of open-top luxury’, and add to that the extra power of the Black Badge…
What is planned for the brand’s new Leeds dealership?
We will soon be open for business in Leeds with a temporary base for Rolls-Royce located at our Brooklands site on Leeds Ring Road, and in the interim, we are already offering product demonstrations and taking enquiries via a concierge service, delivered by our dedicated specialist/ luxury client relationship manager. Our first Rolls-Royce model arrived on site in October – a brand new Cullinan SUV, one of the first in the country to go on display, having come straight from the home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex. By December, we will have a further four demonstration vehicles here, comprising the Dawn, the Wraith, the Ghost and the Phantom, enabling us to showcase the complete Rolls-Royce product portfolio.
Plans are well underway to create a bespoke, state-of-the-art facility in Leeds for Rolls-Royce which will open later next year.
What will JCT600 offer Rolls-Royce customers?
We pride ourselves on always putting the customer first – at JCT600, we don’t want to be the biggest, just the best at what we do. This ethos will, of course, be central to our new Rolls-Royce facility where customers will be able to talk to our experienced team and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while commissioning their Rolls-Royce motor car as well as having the opportunity to engage with designers and craftspeople at the home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood. It’s great news for the city and for customers throughout Yorkshire and the North that they can now see, touch and test drive these iconic vehicles, right here in Leeds.
