The Friendship Circle Receives £19,740 National Lottery Award to Expand Art & Creative Programme.
Hobbies4Life, an initiative run by the Friendship Circle, has been awarded a £19,740 National Lottery Award from the National Lottery Community Fund. This generous funding will enable the charity to expand its holistic support programme, designed to help its members find meaning and purpose through exploring new hobbies.
Hobbies4Life offers a diverse range of activities led by professional instructors and supported by the dedicated staff and volunteers of The Friendship Circle. The programme aims to cater to a wide array of interests, ensuring there is something for everyone, whether it be improving creative art and writing skills, learning to cook, dance, sing, or even play the drums!
The expanded programme includes:
- Art Therapy – Weekly sessions focused on developing fine motor skills.
- Dance – Fortnightly classes designed to help alleviate stress.
- Singing – Monthly uplifting get-togethers that bring joy and community spirit.
- Drumming – Monthly interactive classes that are fun and energizing.
- Creative Writing – Monthly classes aimed at fostering self-expression.
- Cookery – Monthly online classes that develop essential life skills.
The Friendship Circle is dedicated to enhancing the lives of its members through meaningful activities that promote wellbeing, creativity, and social connection. This funding will not only help the charity broaden its offerings but also ensure that more individuals can benefit from its supportive community.
