Tropical World
Overlooking Roundhay Park’s picturesque Canal Gardens, Tropical World’s abundance of wild habitats and species is a main attraction for families to explore during Easter. Journeying through several climate-controlled glass houses containing swamps, desert environments, and aquariums, visitors will encounter crocodiles, meerkats, and exotic ocean life, learning about some of the world’s most diverse ecosystems along the way.

Harlow Carr
Nestled in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, there is a wealth of growing landscapes, woodland, and wildflower meadows for families to explore in Harlow Carr. Giant painted eggs will be hidden around the RHS garden trails for children and adults to hunt down this Easter with tasty treats to take home. Educational areas including the Teaching Garden and Bramall Learning Centre also offer children hands-on activities which teach the values of plants and gardening.

Leeds Young Film Fest
The Leeds Young Film Festival will return in person between 11th and 15th April this year across multiple city centre venues. Showcasing some of cinema’s classics rarely seen on the big screen, the festival also features new and unseen films made both for and from young people around the world. A range of workshops and masterclasses are also on offer taking families behind the scenes to learn about the art of filmmaking.

Royal Armouries Museum
Housing the UK’s national collection of arms and armour, the Royal Armouries is open for
free during the entire Easter holiday. Over 4,500 objects are on display across the museum’s five galleries, with regular live combat demonstrations taking place as staff bring historic weapons and armour to life for audiences. Modern exhibitions on offer include At The Sharp End, detailing the positive work done across West Yorkshire to prevent youth violence.

Left Bank Art Space
Situated within the historic former St Margaret’s church, Left Bank Art Space is a vibrant venue hosting an evolving programme of creative events for adults and children to enjoy. The space’s Easter workshops are welcome for all ages including cartoon portrait classes and lino printing sessions, with a dedicated toddler play zone also available for parents to meet up and let the little ones explore.
