JLife brings you the best new foodie openings coming to Leeds this autumn.
Well-Oiled Pizza
Detroit-style pizza is one of the hottest food trends at the moment, and Well-Oiled is bringing the delicacy to Leeds. Unlike its better known thin and triangular counterpart, Detroit-style pizza is rectangular, with a thick and chewy crust. Well-Oiled pizzas are made with a deep dish focaccia dough and their famous signature sauce. The pop-up is based inside Leeds Cloud Kitchen, and has took a break throughout August, but will be back serving cheesy goodness later this year.
Poco
This beloved Sicilian street food vendor has just opened a second location in Headingley, serving up the same tasty Italian bites as the original on Kirkstall Road which has enjoyed rave reviews. Poco imports some of its ingredients all the way from Italy to ensure authentic Sicilian flavour. Catch favourites such as arancini, rotisserie chicken, and pizza with various toppings baked al taglio.

Morrisons Market Kitchen
Following successful ventures in London and Manchester, Morrisons is bringing its Street Market Kitchen to Leeds. The food hall will be set up in The Merrion Centre, and will feature dozens of different cuisines, so there’s something for whatever you fancy. Meals will be freshly prepared by trained chefs and will serve options for breakfast, lunch, and evening meals. Unsurprisingly, all of the ingredients used in the food hall come from the massive supermarket brand’s stores.
The Collective
Boar Lane will welcome its newest café bar The Collective later this autumn. The eatery will serve healthy brunch and lunch options, as well as cocktails and coffee. The modern establishment is branded as a place to “refuel, unwind and discover.” The space will also feature modern art, which is available for customers to buy, as is the tableware, and even the furniture.
SALT Leeds
Owned by the award-winning Ossett Brewery, SALT Leeds on East Parade was formerly known as Craft Asylum, but has undergone remodelling and rebranding, and is now a New York-style bar, serving craft beer and cocktails. SALT will serve the brands renowned keg beers including favourites as well as a range of Ossett Brewery cask classics and the new Yøn Helles Lager. The bar has a two for £10 deal on cocktails all day, every day, and has eight cocktails on tap.
