Chapel Allerton’s favourite coffee shop expanded its reach across North Leeds in March, opening its second home in the heart of Oakwood. Sat within its stylish décor, House of Koko visitors can enjoy the café’s familiar laid-back vibe, with quality coffee and brunch dishes including the signature Lebanese avocado and scrambled tofu on toast served throughout the day. SALT Craft + Falafel
Taking over the former Craft Asylum bar on the banks of Granary Wharf, SALT brewery has teamed up with Falafel Guys to merge award-winning craft beer with authentic middle eastern street food. The new joint venture draws in fans of both worlds to SALT Craft + Falafel’s picturesque water setting, with spicy food offerings including the slow cooked chicken shawarma served in a wrap or mixed salad bowl. All the usual SALT core range of beers are also on tap, with a rotating roster of cocktails available on a two for £12 offer all day, every day.

Hooyah Burgers
After zipping around town as a delivery-only business during its first few months, Hooyah Burgers has finally opened its first permanent restaurant in Leeds city centre. Inspired by the famous flavours of the USA, the smash burgers use beef brisket aged for almost a month for a guaranteed rich smoky flavour, with an indulgent layer of toppings and sides to pick from, including buttermilk chicken tenders and vodka battered onion rings. Flexible dietary options are also catered for, with plant-based options including falafel and spinach patties topped with hummus, chili jam, and served in a vegan brioche bun.

Better Days
Hidden inside the Grand Arcade, this speakeasy bar is a bottomless brunch
