Chapel Allerton’s favourite coffee shop expanded its reach across North Leeds in March, opening its second home in the heart of Oakwood. Sat within its stylish décor, House of Koko visitors can enjoy the café’s familiar laid-back vibe, with quality coffee and brunch dishes including the signature Lebanese avocado and scrambled tofu on toast served throughout the day. The entertainment also vamps up as the evening draws in, with a full selection of wine, cocktails, and live music acts to be enjoyed during longer weekend hours.

Hooyah Burgers

After zipping around town as a delivery-only business during its first few months, Hooyah Burgers has finally opened its first permanent restaurant in Leeds city centre. Inspired by the famous flavours of the USA, the smash burgers use beef brisket aged for almost a month for a guaranteed rich smoky flavour, with an indulgent layer of toppings and sides to pick from, including buttermilk chicken tenders and vodka battered onion rings. Flexible dietary options are also catered for, with plant-based options including falafel and spinach patties topped with hummus, chili jam, and served in a vegan brioche bun.
