A fabulous day of fundraising was in full swing at the 30th anniversary of the AM-AM golf tournament.
The 30th anniversary of the Annual AM-AM Caring for Children Golf Day took place in September at Moor Allerton Golf Club to raise money for Leeds Jewish Welfare Board’s (LJWB) Children and Family Services. 28 teams of eager golfers enjoyed a game of golf, lunch and other fun competitions.
Grey morning skies gave way to a sunnier afternoon and a great day was had by all, with many eager to come back next year. Of course, being able to support such a worthwhile and important cause only added to the value of the day. The AM-AM Golf Day Committee, led by David Share worked hard to organise the event and were delighted to raise over £38,000 for LJWB, with the main sponsors of the event comprising Clipper Logistics, Evans of Leeds, Town Centre Securities, Manning Stainton, Berry’s and Beaverbrooks.
Congratulations go to the winning team members, with a score of 94, Michael Coster and Tony and David Khalastchi. David said: “We are delighted to have surpassed our target and raised these much-needed funds for Leeds Jewish Welfare Board, a cause which is so important to everyone involved. Thank you to all those that sponsored, supported and took part and contributed to a record-breaking year.”
The money raised from the day will all go towards providing support and activities to all children in the community. As a result of this funding children with special educational and additional needs will have access to counselling, sensory activities, and support. Young families can access baby massage, baby yoga and baby bubbles classes to support learning and social inclusion. The AM-AM committee believes every child should have the opportunity to engage with all activities and be happy regardless of their needs. LJWB provides that opportunity thanks to the fantastic support of the local community.
