Ira Silverman, owner of popular Moortown fress spot Ira B’s, has been called upon to restart her work cooking meals for the intensive care units at St James Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary in conjunction with Danielle Marijke Sapherson. The duo are currently delivering meals to underprivileged families in North Leeds, following months spent providing hard-working NHS key workers meals throughout the first wave of the pandemic, which earned Ira a Yorkshire Evening Post Big Thank You Award.
Whether it be by contributing donations, giving up your time to volunteer or providing surplus store cupboard ingredients, Ira urges the community to come together in support: “If you think you can help me put smiles back on faces, fill tummies and give a little bit back to those who are currently struggling as a result of this most hideous of pandemic, plus our wonderful NHS staff, please let me know if you wish to donate. We are all in this together and supporting those less fortunate than ourselves and those who are providing vital care for our nearest and dearest will be our legacy.”
