Skopes recently donated a full suit to a man in need of clothing to attend a funeral.
Chapel Allerton-based charity Homeless Street Angels has received a donation of a full suit from luxury formalwear provider Skopes. The charity reached out to Skopes Owner Simon Cope when a couple it has supported for five years needed formalwear to attend the funeral of a close relative.
Shelley Joyce, Co-Founder of the charity said: “Simon has supported our charity since the beginning and he is always there if we need anything. To have this support makes what we do easier, and his generosity has meant that one of our previously homeless guys can walk into a family funeral looking smart with his head held high.
It’s the little things that count when we support our homeless guys. When they get a property, we like to stay connected and be there for them whenever they need a hand.”
Simon Cope commented: “It is all our duty to help whenever and however we can. Becky and Shelley are the real heroes with the dedication they show (week in week out) by helping the homeless. They feed, find new accommodation, provide all they needed to survive (clothing and shelter) and are the essential lifeline that is needed. When the ladies from HSA called, I was only too pleased to help, as this chap who has just lost his father (which is a traumatic time) wanted to pay his respects at the funeral by dressing appropriately.”
