The Jewish Leadership Council leadership development division, Lead, has relaunched its flagship support programmes.
After a pause in leadership development during the pandemic, the team at Lead have been delighted to recruit new members for the Adam Science Leadership Programme and the Dangoor Senior Leadership Programme for emerging leaders over the autumn.
A division of the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC), Lead promotes leadership development as a key factor behind driving a vibrant Jewish community, with its support programmes enabling participants to progress on their way to become lay and professional leaders in their own community with valuable experience and networking contacts.
The Adam Science Leadership Programme has supported and developed generations of emerging Jewish leaders since its inception in 1992, with many graduates of the year-long programme now holding senior lay and professional roles in the Jewish community.
For its 30th anniversary this year, Lead has partnered with UJIA and the JRC in Manchester to bring together a Northern cohort in addition to a London based group.
Taking part in individual sessions, both groups will also come together in- person and online for sessions led by leadership specialists, featuring the best of current leadership knowledge and practice supplemented by Jewish leadership lessons.
First launching in 2017, the Dangoor Senior Leadership Programme (DSLP) is tailored for senior leaders in the community. Providing participants with precious space and time to reflect on their community leadership, the programme also allows them to further build their skills and confidence to face challenges within their organisations and community.
Although based in London, Lead is optimistic that Leeds will be among the regions represented in the new 2023-24 cohort.
“A fundamental part to the success of the programme for me was sharing the experience with some of the community’s most inspirational leaders,” said Dangoor alum Ashley Lerner, who is now CEO of Maccabi GB. “I know that the network from the programme is something I will be able to rely on for years to come.”
While applications for both programmes have now closed, Lead will soon be looking to run future cohorts. To keep informed about leadership development programmes,
