The Friendship Circle took on London and later spread joy for Purim with a mega party.
It’s been a busy few months for The Friendship Circle. 20 of the charity’s members spent three unforgettable days touring London this spring. A trip to the Houses of Parliament was a once in a lifetime opportunity for many of the members thanks to Mark Levy, Chief Executive of the Jewish Rep Council, who organised an exclusive behind the scenes tour.
In addition to a boat ride down the Thames, drinks at Sky Garden – enjoying stunning panoramic views across the capital – and a tour of the historic Tower of London, members also spent time shopping in Covent Garden and Camden Market. Last but not least, another highlight of the trip was a visit to Buckingham Palace where they witnessed the Changing of The Guard – and spotted King Charles being driven past!
The group also later also spread joy for Purim. Baking hamantashen is a firm favourite of the members, and the charity’s mega party was attended by over 120 people who enjoyed a rolling ice cream bar, candyfloss, arcade machines, face painting and pizza. As well as making packs for the elderly with GIFT, the organisation distributed hundreds of packs full of treats and goodies to both members and volunteers. And of course, the traditional megillah readings brought happiness to all those who joined!
