The Fed has been presented with one of over 300 trees which made up the Tree of Trees sculpture erected outside Buckingham Palace this summer to honour Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
The tree will be planted in the five-acre grounds of the charity’s Heathlands Village headquarters with celebrations involving the home’s residents currently taking part in the ongoing Heathlands in Bloom gardening project.
“We are so proud and honoured to have received this award as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy project in recognition of our work at Heathlands Village and within the community,” commented Chair of Trustees Bernie Yaffe.
“To have been selected in the 50th Anniversary year of Heathlands Village gives added significance. We are looking forward to seeing this wonderful living legacy to our late monarch blossom and grow in line with our ongoing aspirations for the services we provide at The Fed.”
