A Leeds entrepreneur is hosting her first catwalk event celebrating local women and showcasing emerging Yorkshire fashion designers, as her women’s lifestyle club, Simply Ladies, continues to grow.

The Simply Ladies Fashion Show, which will take place on Friday 23 November at Banyan, City Square, will shine a spotlight on local fashion designers, with their latest collections modeled by real women of Leeds.

Brands featured in the event will include BMintage, WAKE and Drunk in Love Couture, all Leeds-based up and coming fashion designers. Simply Ladies supporters Pretty Little Thing and New Look will also be supporting the show, with local models showcasing their teen and women’s AW18 trends.

Guests will enjoy a prosecco and canapé reception and live entertainment throughout the evening. The event starts at 6.30pm and tickets are available on Eventbrite, starting at £10. A percentage of the funds raised from the event will be donated to St. Gemma’s Hospice.

Carron Cummins set up Simply Ladies earlier this year following the sudden death of her partner in 2014. Previously training as a paralegal, Carron had to leave her studies to take care of her two young children, but wanted to set up a business that supported and empowered women from all walks of life.

Simply Ladies is a membership club, giving women in Yorkshire access to local discounts and offers for fashion, health and wellbeing, leisure, and food and drink brands. It also has a thriving online community where Simply Ladies members can seek support and advice from other women in the city.

Carron said: “As women, we’re often very good at taking care of other people but neglect ourselves a bit. After going through a difficult time in my own life, I wanted to create something that had the potential to make women feel great about themselves. Alongside the local offers and discounts Simply Ladies members can access, they also have the support of the wider community, through events like the fashion show.

“The fashion show is all about empowering women, regardless of their situation, age or size. There will be women from all walks of life on our catwalk and we’ll be sharing their stories as they strut their stuff in some stunning outfits from our local designers. The event will be a real celebration of all women and I hope our guest leave feeling supported and inspired by each other.”
