Tom Nesher, a young Israeli film director, has been selected to screen his debut film, Come Closer, at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City as a part of its Viewpoints section from 5th to 16th June.
The film stars Lia Elalouf and Daria Rosen as the two central leads, both of whom are newcomers to the film industry. The film tells the story of Eden, a young woman who cares deeply for her younger brother, believing there are no boundaries or secrets between them. When he is involved in a fatal accident, Eden discovers his secret girlfriend, Maya. As Eden yearns to learn more about Maya the two women build an obsessive bond driven by their grief.
Nesher says: “In these difficult days, when we see boycotts of Israeli art and huge demonstrations around the world (and in New York in particular) it is a great pride for us that the film was chosen to be shown at a prestigious festival like the Tribeca Festival, in the heart of Manhattan.”
