Chanukah brings us together to support Jewish Child’s Day and The Zone, raising funds for children suffering in Israel.
The community has once again come together in a remarkable show of solidarity and support for a meaningful cause. The Zone partnered with Jewish Child’s Day (JCD) for its Chanukah candle initiative. Through this initiative, the Leeds community has helped raise funds for children in Israel who are in need, while also bringing a special touch of Chanukah cheer.
The project involved ordering boxes of blue and white Chanukah candles, with all proceeds going directly to support JCD’s vital work. Each box, priced at £8, contains a set of candles to help brighten the Chanukah season for children facing hardship in Israel. In an overwhelming show of generosity, the Leeds Jewish community responded enthusiastically to the initiative, with orders pouring in before the deadline.
As a result of this collective effort, orders are now closed, as the candles have sold out. Those who have ordered will soon receive payment and collection details. The Zone will provide further updates on when the candles will be ready for pickup.
This initiative is a beautiful example of how a small act, like purchasing Chanukah candles, can have a profound impact. The funds raised will directly benefit children in Israel, providing them with much-needed support and care.
