A Co-op funded charity is running drop-ins with games, fish and chip suppers, film afternoons, and trips out to local places for older people living in LS17.
Since 1995, Moor Allerton Everyone Cares (MAEC) has been working in the Alwoodley, Moortown, and Shadwell areas with people aged 60+ to support them in having a good quality of life. MAEC focuses on reducing social isolation through groups and events that enable people to meet
others, and befriending for those who are housebound. The charity also helps to improve health and wellbeing through physical activity classes and groups that support mental wellbeing through activities ranging from art to Zumba.
