“What a fantastic day, put us down for next year’s event” was the seal of approval from many of the teams who took part in this year’s Caring for Children Am-Am Golf Day, which raised vital funds for the Children and Family Service at Leeds Jewish Welfare Board (LJWB).

The Golf Day Committee, comprising James Denton, Nora Perry, Ian Land and Richard Cramer and chair David Share, worked tirelessly to make this year’s event a success, despite the difficult circumstances. And what a success it was; with 31 teams playing on the day, the event raised an incredible £20,000.

To ensure social distancing, this year’s event was not a shotgun start, instead each team had their own tee time and enjoyed refreshments at the halfway point. Enterprise Services won the competition with 94 points, with congratulations to team members Robert Tobias, Mark Jacobs, David Feldman and Rafi Saipe.

LJWB extended its thanks to the four main sponsors of the event: Town Centre Securities, Manning Stainton, Berrys and Beaverbrooks the Jewellers, LJWB marketing co-ordinator Victoria Sandler, commenting: “Never has this money raised been more needed to reach out to families at this distressing time. LJWB is incredibly grateful to the Golf Day Committee, sponsors and teams for their incredible support.”

The money raised on the day will be used by LJWB’s specialist Children and Families Services Team, to continue to support families in the community with a vast range of issues, including those families who have children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Don’t miss your opportunity to take part in next year’s Caring for Children Am-Am Golf Day on 23rd June 2021!
