Co-founded by Jewish mental health campaigners Louisa Rose and Jonny Benjamin MBE in 2018, Beyond is a grant-giving charity that aims to provide mental health support to young people, their families and teachers.

In November, Beyond launched the first national database of approved and vetted mental health and wellbeing provisions for schools, which has been developed to help relieve teachers of some of the overwhelming pressure that has been placed on them and stop a young person’s mental health declining more than it already has due to unacceptably long waiting lists.

This national online database is free to access and list, and offers a community of practitioners who specialise in children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing. For any school that cannot afford the providers’ fees, they can apply to Beyond’s fundraising initiative #BrakeTheSystem fund for up to £4,000.

With 75% of mental health problems beginning in adolescence, co-founder Jonny believes in early intervention and prevention: “My mental health problems and suicide attempt would never have happened if adolescents and teachers were given the right tools from the outset.”
